Anai Winn Quezada is an undergraduate Vocal Performance major and German minor at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. As a member of the Opera Theatre Department, Anai has performed various roles from famous operas including Papagena from Die Zauberflöte, Belinda from Dido and Aneas, and Noemie from Cendrillon. She also loves jazz and has participated in Texas State’s Jazz Combos as a vocalist and flutist.

Anai performs as Belinda in Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with Texas State Opera Theatre under the direction of Marc Reynolds.

July of 2019

Anai sings in William Lewis’ School of Opera in Salzburg Austria as Madamemoiselle Silberklang in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor.

March 27th-30th of 2019

Anai performs as Papagena in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Magic Flute with Texas State Opera Theatre.

October 26th-29th of 2018

Anai performs sings Cornelia’s duet,Son nata a lagrimar, from George Frederic Handel’s “Giulio Cesare” in Texas State Opera Theatre’s Mad Scenes production as well as Cathy in The Next 10 Minutes and Still Hurting from “The Last 5 Years”.

Fall of 2019

Anai learns the role of Noemie from Manon’s Cendrillon. Unfortunately due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Texas State was unable to perform the opera for a live audience.

October 21-24th of 2021

Texas State Opera Theatre presents a pastiche production in collaboration with the Texas State Department of Theatre and Dance entitled: Rewritten. In this production Anai performs as Beatriz, singing the arias Union de Contrarios from La Hija de Rappaccini by Fernando de la Mora as well as Beyond All Price and Our Eden Here is Love from The Scarlet Letter by Lori Laitman.

March 5th of 2022

Anai sings the aria Padre, germani, addio! from Mozart’s Idomeneo with the Texas State Orchestra as a result of winning the annual Concerto Competition at Texas State.

March 24-27th of 2022

Anai performs the role of Serse from Handel’s Serse under the direction of Marc Reynolds with the Texas State Opera Theatre program. The event will be livestreamed and tickets can be purchased at txsstatepresents.com
